I am part of WHITE, December's exhibition at Gallery 110 showcases the metphors, conceptual and visual aesthetic of "white." Everything from a simple reflection of the winter season to personal implications of absence, putity, peace and renewal; the gallery invites you to celebrate with our members as they explore the essence of white.

In recognition of the season of gift-giving, this piece, Black, White, Red,  may be taken home right after you purchase it. No need to wait for the exhibition to close.  My scarves and greeting cards will be available at the gallery all month long.

Water Series

I have been thinking about a series about the movement of water and will be proposing to show work in that series. Moving water, in creeks, on the shore has held a long fascination for me.  I've been photographing it for years, capturing the movement a moment at time.  Some surprising things can be seen in that moment.  I'm translating into knitted sculpture the lines, bubbles and swirls.

I'm preparing a submission for the Bellevue Art Museum's Biennial 2012: High Fiber Diet exhibition. BAM's biennials focus on work by Northwest artists and craftsmen, occurring every 2 years with a new theme.

Yesterday, 7 pieces went to the photographer. The deadline is mid-December, so I'm on track to get the submission in well ahead of time.
