Resurrection and the Call

The combination of semi-transparent fabric with the cascade of paper birds illustrated the triumph of Easter and the call of Pentecost. Transparency of the life offered anticipates the lives of the many.

Participating in making over 450 origami birds, members of the congregation made a symbol of their part in the call of the many.

Gratitude

A grid, created from donated silk fabric, hangs from metal rings repurposed from a hanging created for the congregation's capital campaign a few years before. The grid contains leaf-shaped cards marked with each member's message of gratitude. The sculpture grew as more people participated.

A series of hanging sculptures are designed to slip onto a three ring base for the sanctuary of Ballard First Lutheran Church in Seattle, Washington.
